A desert-led approach to caring for homes—and the people who stay in them

Soln was founded to care for homes in the high desert with intention—so they hold together for owners and feel right for the people who stay in them. Our work isn’t driven by scale, price point, or volume, but by how a space feels, functions, and lives within its surroundings.

We approach homes as places, not inventory. Shaped by climate and real use, each decision is made with restraint and long-term care in mind—respecting the desert, the owner’s vision, and the experience of staying well. Calm, well-run stays are the result of thoughtful preparation and steady attention behind the scenes.

This isn’t traditional property management. It’s a desert-rooted approach to stewardship—design-aware, owner-aligned, and quietly consistent—built to support meaningful stays and lasting care.

CARE

Homes are treated as places, not inventory. Care is consistent, proactive, and guided by attention to detail rather than reaction. The goal is durability—homes that feel settled, cared for, and cohesive over time.

place

The desert isn’t a backdrop. It sets the conditions. Light, heat, dust, and wind all inform how a home should be maintained and experienced. Soln’s approach responds to those realities, practically and respectfully.

experience

A well-cared-for home creates better stays. Guest experience is shaped quietly—through preparation, clarity, and presence—so spaces feel easy to arrive in and simple to enjoy. Calm for guests begins with care behind the scenes.

Soln, the name

Soln takes its name from the quiet influence of the sun in the desert—not as a symbol, but as a presence.

In the Joshua Tree area the day begins gently. Early light arrives low and calm, before the heart of the day takes hold. Mornings feel open and unhurried, shaped by cool air and long sightlines. As the day settles, evenings return to stillness—temperatures ease, shadows stretch, and the landscape moves slowly toward a softened golden hour.

Soln reflects that same rhythm. Measured rather than rushed. Grounded rather than performative. The name is a reminder that what matters most is often subtle—how a place feels over the course of a day, how it’s cared for over time, and how thoughtfully it’s held.

Quiet credibility

Soln was built from lived experience—as owners, hosts, and caretakers of a desert home. We understand the frustration of inconsistent standards, reactive management, and being far from a place that matters.

That perspective informs how we work today: hands-on, communicative, and grounded in systems that support follow-through rather than shortcuts.

We’re intentionally small, with growth approached deliberately, so attention never slips and standards don’t erode.

Soln for owners

Soln works with owners who value care over scale and clarity over noise. Homes may be expansive or compact, refined or simple—as long as they’re intentional and thoughtfully maintained.

Owners can be as involved or as hands-off as they choose. We remain hands-on either way.

Soln believes homes should be shaped to feel calm, cohesive, and easy to be in. Care is felt rather than announced. The desert sets the rhythm. The home supports it.

Long before guests arrive, each stay is prepared with attention and restraint. Homes are readied thoughtfully, systems are checked, and details are aligned so arrival feels smooth and unforced. The goal is not perfection for its own sake, but a space that feels settled, cared for, and ready to be used.

During a stay, guests are supported quietly and clearly. Communication is present without being intrusive, and needs are addressed with care and follow-through. When questions arise, there’s a real person paying attention—someone who knows the home and understands how it’s meant to function.

The result is an experience that feels considered rather than curated. Guests are able to settle in, move at their own pace, and enjoy the desert.

soln founders

Soln is led by Matt and Jeff, with a shared focus on the careful stewardship of homes and the desert they exist in. The company grew out of firsthand experience—both the rewards of doing this work well and the gaps that appear when it’s done poorly.

Drawing on years of personal and professional travel experience, along with a technology-forward but guest-centered approach, Soln was shaped to bring more clarity, consistency, and care to how homes are managed and stays are supported.
